IT Jobs on The Rise in NC

Written by Jennifer Hartman | Jul 21, 2020 7:11:57 PM

Despite recent setbacks with the COVID19 pandemic, Information Technology jobs in North Carolina are on the rise. This is great news for those currently unemployed and/or seeking new careers.

According to WRAL-TV*, while the unemployment rate in NC is dropping, job openings are still down 18% from this time last year. Hiring rates are slowing as many states are pulling back from fully re-opening as originally planned. IT, however, remains strong with technology jobs increasing since last year by 41.9%.

As much of the country turns to at-home work and cloud-based operations, this increases the need for skilled IT professionals. So, what can you do to get ahead? Educate yourself and earn an IT certification. With the right training, you could earn a certification and be working in IT in just a few short months.
